Crystal Light Challenge and Weight Watchers Update #26

For new readers (hello!), please go check out the Crystal Light Challenge and join on in! It’s simply a challenge to meet your own exercise goal. I am shooting for 90 minutes a week.

Every week I’m posting my own exercise update for the challenge. Hopefully you will comment below with your weekly results as well. :-)

If you’d like to be added to the challenger list, please leave your name, exercise goal, and website URL (if you have one) below and I’ll happily add you to the list! You can also email me your info to ccthoughts *at* gmail *dot* com or use the Contact form at the top.

Crystal Light Challenge Update

I did get way more than 90 minutes of walking in Las Vegas the week before last but last week was pretty bad.  I quit my job but had a ton of work the last three days.  I will do better.

How did you do on your goal?

Weight Watchers Update

I joined Weight Watchers on January 4, 2011:

  • Weighed in at 176 pounds
  • Wore a Size 14/16
  • Assigned up to 252 points a week plus whatever activity points I can earn (and was told to stay above 203 no matter what).

The goal I made January 1st, 2011 was to weigh 163 or less by July 4th, 2011 and fit into a Size 12 since that was the halfway point to my end of year goal to weigh 150 and fit into a Size 10. I hit my 163 goal by February 7th, 2011 (YAY!!!), so I’m making new goals.

My current goal is to weigh 150 or less by July 4th, 2011 and fit into a Size 10 or 12. I will ultimately be shooting for 140 pounds by December 31st, 2011 and will shoot to maintain that from there.

Here is where I stand today:

  • I now weigh 149 (Up 3 pounds from the last update and down 27 pounds overall)
  • I am still a tight size 10
  • I did not keep up with my Weight Watcher points for the last 2 weeks!  That has changed and I will be tackling it again this week.

I am getting 7 or more hours of sleep at night again!  I am also volunteering twice a week with Meals on Wheels as soon as they get me onto a schedule – that will help me get out of the house hopefully.

Thanks for keeping me honest! I hope all of your goals are going as planned!

Yeah on getting more sleep. Working from home now should help with that as well. You might even be able to get some exercise in during the day. :-) Also, only a 3 pound gain from the vacation isn’t too bad.

I didn’t hit my target 2 weeks ago, but did hit it last week. I’m not going to hit it this week, pulled muscle in the back will keep me down for a couple days at least.

  • Congrats on being on target. I think I would be more mindful of what I ate if I had to blog about what I was eating…humm…that could be a new blog idea ;)

  • Hi Crystal– Surfed over from Yakezie, and had to comment on the great job on losing weight. I, too, am trying to drop some pounds. I use SparkPeople to track my food intake and also exercise that I get, and find I do great as long as I keep up with it. I just installed it on my phone– so hopefully, no more slips. I’ve gained about 70 pounds in three years–many reasons, financial issues, depression, and a torn meniscus in my knee that kept me from doing much of anything. My goal is to lose 50 pounds before New Year’s Eve…just about 10 pounds a month— wish me well:)

  • @MikeS, I’m sorry you pulled a muscle! Back pain is the absolute worst…take care of yourself and I hope it feels better very soon!

@Super Frugalette, yeah, it’s been hard this week since my kitchen is like 20 steps from my office, but knowing I have to tell all of you about my progress on Mondays does help keep me in line. :-)

@Denise, wow, 50 pounds is a great goal!!! Good luck and I hope you tune in on Mondays with updates for us!!!

  • I will checking in every Monday– need some inspiration, so let it rip!

  • @Denise, you can motivate me too. In fact, we should just both suck up the motivation from commenter MikeS who is an exercise God in my opinion… :-)

Not quite an exercise God, but thanks. I’ve just found a routine that I don’t hate. It has also helped that I’m not exercising for looks, but just to be healthy. We’ll see how that is working out when I have my annual physical next week.

The back is feeling better, but it looks like this week is a lost cause. Probably could have run this morning, but wasn’t hydrated enough for this heat.

  • Cool, Crystal– will be checking in with you both. Mike, I think finding exercise you don’t hate is the key— I personally don’t like to walk or run, but give me a bike and a nice level trail and you won’t see me all day.

  • I have a very tight schedule but though I have limited time, I always make sure that I have time for exercise. Loosing weight needs patience and consistency. We need to keep exercising since a skip in schedule has a huge effect on our body and psychology.

  • @MikeS, good luck with your physical! I am so glad your back is better!

@Denise, I only post updates on Mondays but feel free to email me anytime for a little boost at budgetingfunstuff *at* gmail *dot* com. :-)

    @Anthony, good point.
