Kindness Commitment Friday #4

For anybody just tuning in, I post a kindness story and update every Friday as my part of The Kindness Commitment Challenge. I personally think that making a concious effort to be nice will benefit ourselves and others alike. Please feel free to add your random act of kindness in the comment section every week – it’s great for inspiration and makes for happy Friday reading as well!

This Week’s Story from the News

Today’s story comes from Montana Ranchers Rally to Save Starving, Abandoned Horses.

100 tons of hay was donated to help save more than 400 horses that were left without food or water in Montana.

It all started when a Billings-area rancher just stopped taking care of his 500 horses.  The manager of the NILE Foundation said that once they publicized the story, they had offers to help pouring in from around the world – even some people from Australia have pitched in!  Some people have offered to adopt several of the horses and others have volunteered to disburse food and water to the herd.

The 100 tons of donated hay should last at least a few weeks while long-term plans are made.

My Personal Update

I gave a bag of mandarin oranges to a guy down on his luck on my way home.  I also drove back out and dropped off a couple of fleece blankets since it has been hitting the low 30′s around here this week at night.

How did you do this week? Build any good karma? Have any ideas for us in the future?
