October 2010 Blog Statistics and Income Update

As I’ve been saying at Crystal Clear, I want to blog full time by 2012. To reach that goal, I need a bunch of traffic on all of my blogs. Specifically, I want 25,000 unique visitors a month at BFS by August 2011 and need to be making $25,000 a year total by the end of 2011. I figured the best way to keep my eye on the prize is to hit monthly targets.

Between that and the fact there seems to be major interest in the subject, I’m starting a new update around the 1st of every month of blog statistics and the income generated. I’ll also do a huge 1 year update at the end of every year and an anniversary update as well. I’ll post CCT stats here and you can check out Budgeting in the Fun Stuff and Dog’s Life For Me to see theirs too.

    • Have you found any sites that reference how much ad space is worth based on feed statistics? I’m curious how people determine ad rates and rules of thumb. I suppose it’s a supply/demand thing on some level.

For example, I’d guess ads in the middle of articles would be worth more than ones in sidebars.

    • Keep on working my friend! I suggest you like to CCT from BFS whenever you can. Embed links in your BFS articles and such.

Remember, it is a slow process unfortunately. But you are the queen of blog mastery!

    • @First Gen, I just figure it out as I go along. It’s odd but sidebar ads are actually usually more expensive tham sponsored posts…probably because sidebar ads are seen more often.

@Everyday Tips, thanks for the encouragement. I do link to CCT and DLM from BFS every week at least and will start incorporating article links as often as possible too. :-) With you to vent to, I’ll be sure to make it eventually, lol.
