According to a recent CNET article, online banking is booming. In fact, it is estimated that almost 50% of consumers now bank online. The reason has to do with convenience. No more having to deal with bank hours. No more hassles of waiting in line to conduct simple transactions like transfers between accounts.
Now, almost every bank offers basic online banking service where you can check your balances and conduct transfers. Some banks even offer services like online check deposit, where you can scan your checks in or take a picture of them, and then they are automatically deposited into the account.
Insurance
Many insurance companies now offer many online services similar to banks. They allow you to conduct many different transactions, like getting quotes and signing up for services. Some companies even allow you to submit information to get claims started online. Finally, many companies are now coming up with cell phone apps to let you document important information as you go, so that you immediately have everything you need to file a claim.
Other Services
Finally, there are a ton of other financial services that have started making their way online. Many individuals are now participating in peer to peer lending programs, where individuals can lend money to others, based on their posts online.
Other services have started moving online as well, like payday loans and other types of personal loans. These services allow borrowers to apply online and submit their documents online. This expedites the process and allows borrowers to apply in the privacy of their homes.
By having financial services available online, you can conduct business faster and in the comfort of your home, or where ever else is convenient for you.
