Weekly Kindness Update #4

This week I wanted to go out of my way a couple of times on purpose.

I know it shouldn’t count since it tasted so good, but one of the things I’m going to consider a donation was going to the local pizza restaurant at the edge of my neighborhood since I spent way more than I ever normally would on one meal ($11).  The lasagna was delicious and ended up making 3 small meals so I don’t cringe much.  I’m trying to remind myself to go to that restaurant at least once every 3-4 weeks since small businesses in my area don’t seem to last long and this guy’s marinara sauce is divine…

The second thing I did was to buy donuts for my whole department simply since no one had done it for a while.  I don’t understand why since donuts are pretty inexpensive and they make everybody so happy, but there you go.  It gave a couple of people a smile.

I haven’t bought the random tank of gas yet…I’m thinking that will be next week.  :-)

How has your week gone?

  • We went to Olive Garden (and that was great!) I ordered a glass of chianti (wine is a ripoff in a restaurant, but I did it anyway…)

Club Penguin is the latest uproar in our household! Both kids get on it the minute they get home from school. I have to admit it’s kind of cool :)

    Have a great weekend!

  • This week I was down by the city, so I visited a friend of mine who has a little boy a year younger than my youngest. I brought her 3 giant tote bins of hand me downs to pick through instead of selling the stuff. I got a lot of hand me downs when my kids were born, so this is just my way of paying it forward.

Next week’s kindness update will rock. I’m planning a special surprise for my son’s school.

  • I let some guy go ahead of me at line at the grocery store.

I also took my mom to a 3 hour dentist appt, and also took her dinner 2 nights this week. (I made extra of my own dinner and took it to her.)

  • @Money Reasons, glad you had a good time!

@First Gen American, paying it foward seems to make a ton of people happy. Our families help us out all the time and we try to do the same for others since our families never seem to need help themselves.

I can’t wait to hear from you next week! I’ll either be posting about a big thing this Friday or next one myself.

@Everyday Tips, driving people to their errands is a big one for me since I think it’s one of the nicest things someone could do for me.

I just want everyone here to know that I really appreciate your participation!

  • Crystal,

This topic is one of the posts I most look forward to during the week. I really hope it grows big. Don’t give up on it. It’s a great idea.

  • @First Gen American, thank you. That by itself will keep me motivated enough to continue it as planned. Seriously, thank you.
