Weekly Kindness Update #8

For anybody just tuning in, I post a kindness update every Friday as my part of The Kindness Commitment Challenge. I personally think that making a concious effort to be nice will benefit ourselves and others alike. Please add your random act of kindness in the comment section every week – it’s great for inspiration and makes for happy Friday reading as well!

This Week’s Update

It was another mediocre week for my kindness meter, but I did give a homeless guy my soda.  I had just bought a chicken sandwich meal at McDonald’s but he looked thirsty (and I really, really wanted my fries), so I gave him the Dr. Pepper.  Saved me calories and made him smile – that’s a win-win in my book, lol.  :-)

How did you do this week? Build any good karma? Have any ideas for us in the future?

  • I got to meet my customer service support team this week. I brought down a case of jelly for them all. I thanked them and offered to take them all out to dinner. Only 1 taker though. Then today, I brought in another case and shared with my current and ex co-workers.

Unfortunately, I don’t have enough to give to everyone who wants a jar. My boss’s boss saw a jar on my boss’s desk and my boss was rubbing it in that he got a jar but the other guy didn’t (my boss’s boss used to be my boss 3 jobs ago).

So, that’s it for now. I’ve planned my kindness day for Dec13th. I need to start planning my events for that day. I need ideas.

  • @First Gen, I need some new ideas too. I’m hoping to do something soon that really helps someone out. I saw the new website for Love Drop and want to be involved in something like that (although I wonder how much of the donations actually makes it to the act of kindness – I need to email them).
